Brantley Gilbert Defends Performing at Turning Point USA Event

Country singer Brantley Gilbert says artists should keep their commitments, even if they face public criticism afterward.

Speaking on the Net Positive podcast, Gilbert said he was disappointed to see some entertainers agree to perform at patriotic events and then back out because of backlash.

Gilbert pointed to his own appearance at Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show” during the Super Bowl, which featured Kid Rock. He said his decision was not about politics.

According to Gilbert, he accepted the performance because it was a good career opportunity, especially after signing with a new record label. He also wanted his children to see him perform during one of the biggest events in sports.

Gilbert said he never expected the show to become politically divisive. He added that he is proud of his choices and stands by his decision to perform.

In previous statements, Gilbert described himself as a Christian, a recovering addict, and a proud husband and father. He said he loves his country, supports the military, and hopes people can stay united despite their differences.
