Harrison, 61, originally went to the hospital for what doctors expected to be a routine procedure. However, medical tests revealed that he needed bypass surgery, according to a spokesperson for the Harrison family who spoke with Page Six.
The reality TV star is now “resting comfortably” as he continues his recovery.
Harrison’s representative said he is grateful for the doctors and hospital staff caring for him. His wife, Agripina “Angie” Polushkin, and his children have also been by his side during his recovery.
A difficult few years for the Harrison family
The health scare comes after a painful period for Harrison and his family. His son Adam died in January 2024 at the age of 39 from a fentanyl overdose.
At the time, the Harrison family asked for privacy as they mourned his death. Harrison later paid tribute to Adam on Instagram, sharing a photo of the two together with the message: “You will always be in my heart! I love you Adam. 💔”
Harrison has three sons. He shares Corey, 43, and his late son Adam with his first wife, Kim. He also has a younger son, Jake, 23, with his second wife, Tracy.
Family drama surrounding Corey’s medical bills
Harrison also made headlines earlier this year after speaking publicly about his son Corey’s medical expenses.
Corey was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Tulum, Mexico, in January. He reportedly broke 11 ribs and suffered a concussion, internal bleeding and a punctured lung.
A friend of Corey’s, Aron Chambers, launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover more than $100,000 in medical bills and related expenses. The fundraiser was reportedly created with Corey’s knowledge and approval.
Rick Harrison later criticized the decision to launch the fundraiser, saying he believed he had already paid Corey’s medical bills.
“As far as I know, I paid all of Corey’s medical bills long before he put the GoFundMe out,” Harrison said through his representative. “He is a grown man in his 40s and is responsible for how he handles his finances.”
‘Pawn Stars’ future
Corey has been a familiar face on Pawn Stars since the show debuted in 2009. He appeared alongside his father for years as viewers followed the family business, Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas.
The show went on hiatus in 2025 after its 23rd season. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Pawn Stars is expected to return in 2027, but Corey will not be part of the new season.
For now, Harrison’s focus appears to be on his health and recovery, with his family close by as he recuperates from the unexpected surgery.
