Courtney Stodden Calls Out Jason Alexander Over 2012 Sketch Filmed When She Was 17

Courtney Stodden has criticized actor Jason Alexander over a 2012 Funny or Die comedy sketch that was filmed when she was 17 years old.

In a social media post, Stodden said Alexander repeatedly rubbed a phone across her chest during the sketch while making jokes, and later joked about wanting to "have his way" with her once she turned 18. Alexander, who also co-wrote the sketch, was 52 at the time.

Stodden said that, as a minor, she could not legally make decisions about participating in the production. She said the adults involved approved the project and that she felt isolated on set. Looking back, she said she no longer sees the sketch as comedy but as an example of a child being used in an adult joke.

In a statement to Page Six, Alexander apologized, saying the sketch was inappropriate and expressing regret for any harm or distress it caused Stodden.

Stodden, now 31, has spoken publicly in recent years about her marriage at age 16 to actor Doug Hutchison, then 51, describing him as a predator. Hutchison has denied that characterization. The couple divorced in 2020.

Stodden is now married to producer Jared Safier and is advocating for California's AB 1267, a bipartisan bill that would set the minimum legal age for marriage at 18 with no exceptions. She said her past experiences have strengthened her commitment to improving protections for minors in entertainment and beyond.
