Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere reunite Hollywood family history at The Shards premiere

Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere appeared together at the New York premiere of Ryan Murphy's upcoming series The Shards on Monday, drawing attention because of their parents' past relationship.

Gerber, 24, wore a gold-and-silver Valentino sequin gown, while Gere, 26, opted for a black suit and tie. Their parents, Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere, were married from 1991 to 1995 before later starting separate families.

Speaking at the premiere, Gerber said she had never met Homer Gere before filming the series. She described him as "such a joy to work with" and said they became close during production.

When asked about the family connection, Gerber said, "It's such a small world." She also revealed that her mother was attending the premiere to support her.

Crawford was seen at both the premiere and the after-party, while Richard Gere did not attend.

Based on Bret Easton Ellis's novel, The Shards is set in 1981 Los Angeles and follows a group of prep school students as a serial killer known as "The Trawler" targets teenagers. Homer Gere plays mysterious new student Robert Mallory, while Gerber stars as Susan Reynolds.

The series premieres on FX and Hulu on 5 August and begins streaming on Disney+ the following day.
