L7 Bassist Jennifer Finch Diagnosed With Brain Cancer, Will Miss Final Tour

L7 bassist Jennifer Finch has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer and will not join the band's upcoming Last Hurrah Tour.

In a statement shared on Instagram, the band said Finch has undergone multiple surgeries and experienced serious complications, leaving her in need of extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and professional in-home support.

To help cover the costs of her treatment and care, L7, along with Finch's family and friends, has launched a GoFundMe campaign. The fundraiser has raised more than $197,000 toward its $350,000 goal.

The band said the farewell tour was originally planned with all four members, but Finch asked her bandmates to continue without her following her diagnosis. "We will honor her request while making her care and well-being our immediate priority," the statement said.

According to the fundraiser, Finch's condition worsened after unexpected complications led to additional surgeries and setbacks. Donations will help pay for in-home nursing care, physical and speech therapy, medical equipment, out-of-pocket medical expenses, legal fees, and the preservation of her artistic legacy.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1985, L7 became one of the defining bands of the grunge and riot grrrl movements with songs such as "Pretend We're Dead" and "Wargasm." The band's Last Hurrah Tour is scheduled to begin in San Diego on October 6.
