Gilbert thanked executive producer Michael Landon Jr. for giving her the opportunity to play Georgie McGill and said she was grateful for her time on the series. She added that she is looking forward to future projects.
Hallmark confirmed that Gilbert's storyline ended in season 13. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, the network said it appreciated working with her and wished her well.
Gilbert joined When Calls the Heart in season 12 and appeared as a recurring guest through season 13. The Hallmark drama, based on Janette Oke's novels, has been renewed for a 14th season.
