During an episode of Entertainment Weekly’s Lie vs. Lie, Partridge revealed that he once auditioned for an unnamed project that required singing. After paying for singing lessons, he said he tried to perform by singing as loudly as possible.
Partridge said he became so dizzy after performing the song, “Santa Fe” from the musical Newsies, that he had to leave the room to recover. He added that the audition was already at an advanced stage, with the director and producer present.
Brown initially thought the story was made up, but after Partridge confirmed it was true, she laughed and said she had “secondhand ick” from hearing about it. Partridge joked that the audition panel probably felt the same way.
Although he did not get that role, Partridge returns as Viscount Tewkesbury in Enola Holmes 3, alongside Brown as Enola Holmes and Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes. The new film follows Enola as she investigates another mystery while her relationship with Tewkesbury continues to develop. The film is streaming on Netflix.
