Mira Sorvino celebrates 22nd wedding anniversary with Christopher Backus

Mira Sorvino and Christopher Backus marked 22 years of marriage with heartfelt messages to each other on social media.

On July 2, Sorvino, 58, shared an Instagram post calling Backus her “best friend,” “soul mate,” and “partner in crime,” and said she looked forward to the years ahead together.

Backus, 44, replied in the comments, saying he was “the luckiest guy in the world” and that he loved his “beautiful wonderful artistic soulful angelic wife.”

The couple married in 2004, first in a courthouse ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, followed by a celebration in Capri, Italy. They later renewed their vows in Capri with their four children—Mattea, Johnny, Holden and Lucia.

In addition to raising their family, Sorvino and Backus have supported each other’s acting careers and have worked together as producers, most recently on Daft State, which stars Backus.

Both have often spoken publicly about their appreciation for one another. Sorvino has credited Backus with supporting her through a difficult pregnancy and delivery, while Backus has praised her as a devoted mother and wife in previous social media tributes.
