In a statement to TMZ, Weber said he trusted LaPlaca during his 2020 season of The Bachelor and felt she let him down. He also questioned why former host Chris Harrison, who wrote the book’s introduction, supported its publication.
In the memoir, LaPlaca claims she and Weber had a romantic encounter after his breakup with Bachelor winner Hannah Ann Sluss. She writes that they became intimate after watching the show together at his home, but says she later felt hurt when Weber was seen with contestant Kelley Flanagan.
Weber said he spoke with LaPlaca for 90 minutes before the book was released and asked her to reduce details about their alleged relationship. He claims she dismissed his concerns despite knowing he recorded the conversation.
Weber said he accepts responsibility for his own actions but believes his trust was betrayed. He added that he is now in a good place and hopes LaPlaca finds happiness.
