Rosie O’Donnell Says Prison Visit Helped Rebuild Relationship With Daughter

Rosie O’Donnell says a recent visit with her daughter, Chelsea, in prison has brought them closer after years of being estranged. Speaking to Page Six, O’Donnell said the four-hour visit was their longest meaningful conversation in nearly 10 years.

Chelsea, 28, is serving a prison sentence after her probation was revoked in 2025. She has faced multiple drug-related charges and has struggled with addiction.

O’Donnell said the visit was emotional and that she saw her daughter show empathy for the first time in years. Their conversation ended early because of a tornado warning, and Chelsea cried as they said goodbye.

The comedian said she is hopeful about her daughter's future, adding that Chelsea now calls her every day and that her sobriety has helped strengthen their relationship.
