Ryan Reynolds surprises Comic-Con crowd with 'Jeanpool' Avengers stunt

Ryan Reynolds made a surprise appearance at Marvel Studios' Comic-Con panel on Saturday, arriving in a denim version of Deadpool's costume that he jokingly called "Jeanpool."

During a Q&A hosted by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Reynolds, wearing his Deadpool mask, joked that he wanted a role in Avengers: Doomsday. He asked whether the film was still shooting and if there was any chance of last-minute casting, before pretending to leave disappointed when told there were not.

He also teased Paul Rudd by asking, "Where is Thor and why is he crying?"—a reference to Deadpool & Wolverine. Rudd replied with a joke about Reynolds' football club, Wrexham AFC.

Although Reynolds has long been linked to Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel has not confirmed his involvement. He previously said he had not filmed any scenes for the movie.

Reynolds later confirmed he was behind the stunt by sharing photos of himself in the costume on Instagram Stories.

The Comic-Con panel also featured appearances from Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Anthony Mackie and other confirmed Avengers: Doomsday cast members. Elsewhere at the event, Ryan Gosling was announced as the star of a new Ghost Rider film directed by Shawn Levy, while director Ryan Coogler confirmed Black Panther 3, with David Jonsson set to play the grown-up Prince T'Challa II.
