Taylor Frankie Paul, Dakota Mortensen Face New Custody Recommendations in Utah Court

A Utah court has recommended that Dakota Mortensen stop taking his 2-year-old son, Ever, on motorcycle rides after concerns were raised during a July 8 custody hearing with Taylor Frankie Paul.

Commissioner Russell Minas said Ever should only travel in an enclosed vehicle using an age-appropriate child safety seat. The recommendation came after Paul’s lawyer presented a photo showing the toddler riding on Mortensen’s motorcycle.

The court also recommended a small change to the parenting schedule, allowing alternating weekend visits to extend into Monday morning. Mutual protective orders requiring Paul and Mortensen to stay 100 feet apart remain in effect.

The former couple, who star in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, have been involved in several domestic violence investigations, though no charges or outcomes were discussed during the hearing. Filming of the show’s fifth season remains paused.

Paul’s lawyer also told the court that she recently spent two nights at a mental health facility on her doctor’s recommendation for a voluntary mental health reset before returning home. She shares Ever with Mortensen and has two other children with her ex-husband, Tate Paul.
