Taylor Frankie Paul Says She Is Fighting for Time With Her Children

Reality TV star Taylor Frankie Paul says she is fighting to keep time with her children amid an ongoing custody dispute with her ex-husband, Tate Paul.

In a series of Instagram Stories posted on July 2, Paul said she spent the day "crying and fighting" for her two children, Indy, 8, and Ocean, 5. She claimed the children were returned to her before being taken back after plans to spend the Fourth of July weekend together changed, leaving them upset and confused.

Paul also suggested that her recent voluntary stay at a rehabilitation facility had been used against her in the custody case. She said she sought help voluntarily, described herself as clean aside from prescribed medication, and accused former partners of controlling behavior and coercive control.

The social media posts came days after Tate Paul asked a court for a temporary restraining order and emergency custody of the children. The request was denied on June 30. In the ruling, Commissioner Kim Luhn said the concerns raised would require ongoing attention but did not justify an emergency change in custody.

The custody dispute follows several recent legal matters involving Paul and her former boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. Earlier this year, both sought protective orders against each other after a domestic assault investigation. Prosecutors later declined to file charges against Paul. In June, a judge expanded Paul's parenting time with their son, Ever True, while Mortensen remained the custodial parent for holidays.

Paul also said a police officer was present during a custody exchange with Mortensen. She wrote that the ongoing disputes have taken an emotional toll on her.
