Ted Danson Recalls Forgotten TV Kiss With Candice Bergen on Ink

Actor Ted Danson recently remembered a kiss he shared with Candice Bergen on the 1990s sitcom Ink, even though he said it is difficult to find any record of it online.

Speaking on the podcast Where Everybody Knows Your Name, Danson, his wife Mary Steenburgen, and Bergen talked about the short-lived CBS sitcom. The show aired for one season from 1996 to 1997 and starred Danson and Steenburgen as former spouses working together at a newspaper.

Danson said he searched online for the episode but could not find much information. "I do believe we even kissed," he said. Bergen agreed, saying the kiss happened but was "very chastely."

Steenburgen joked that her husband remembered the moment as being much more romantic than it really was. Danson laughed and insisted it was a "full-on kiss."

The kiss took place in the episode "Murphy's Law," in which Bergen appeared as her famous Murphy Brown character. After the kiss, the live studio audience reacted loudly, making it one of the memorable moments of the episode.

Ink was set in the same television universe as Murphy Brown. Although the series was cancelled after one season, fans can still find episodes online.

Steenburgen also spoke about her friendship with Bergen, which grew stronger after they worked together again in the Book Club films alongside Jane Fonda and Diane Keaton. She said the four actresses became close friends during filming.
