Tom Holland Says Erling Haaland Ignored His DM Inviting Him to Dinner

Tom Holland shared a humorous story about being ignored by Manchester City striker Erling Haaland during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on July 13.

When Fallon asked about reports that Holland had sent Haaland a direct message asking to hang out, the actor confirmed the story. Holland admitted the soccer star never replied, describing the experience as "humbling" and a reminder that even famous actors can be overlooked.

Holland said he decided to message Haaland after spotting him at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix in June. "I thought I'd shoot my shot," he said, adding that he received "not even a response."

Asked if he would still like to have dinner with Haaland, Holland joked that the footballer probably would not be interested after England's 2-1 victory over Norway, which ended Norway's World Cup campaign.

Despite the snub, Holland praised Haaland as "an absolute legend" and called him an "incredible" player. Haaland, meanwhile, said he would continue supporting England in the tournament, noting he had owned an England jersey before getting a Norway shirt as a child.

During the interview, Holland also expressed optimism about England's chances of winning the World Cup, saying he felt "something is in the air" as the team advances to the semifinals.
