50 Cent Reacts to Outshine Popsicle Recall Over Possible Glass Contamination

Rapper 50 Cent is not taking the latest food recall lightly.

The rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, shared his frustration on Instagram after Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream announced a voluntary recall of several Outshine Fruit Bars because they could contain small pieces of glass.

In an Instagram Reel, 50 Cent appeared to throw boxes of Outshine popsicles into the trash. He also warned his followers to check their freezers and throw away any affected products.

“OK, now, if you eat these, they got a recall because there might be f---in’ glass in them, so you gotta throw them out,” 50 Cent said in the video. “Can’t even eat pops no more. What the f---?”

He later wrote in the caption, “Can’t eat lettuce can’t eat popsicles they recalled 5 flavors because glass may be in them. Just throw the s--- out!”

The rapper also shared a meme featuring U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., along with the five recalled flavors: Watermelon, Strawberry, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry.

Dreyer’s announced the recall on Aug. 16, saying certain lots of its 6-count, 2.5-ounce Outshine Fruit Bars were being recalled because of possible foreign material contamination with glass.

The recalled products were distributed to retailers nationwide. Consumers should check the packaging for the affected UPC codes, batch codes and expiration dates before eating the products.

Dreyer’s said the affected products have expiration dates ranging from June 30, 2027, through Nov. 30, 2027. The company also stressed that no illnesses or injuries had been reported at the time of the announcement.

Consumers who have recalled products should throw them away or return them to the store where they were purchased for a refund. The company said that no other Outshine products or varieties are affected.

“The safety, quality, and integrity of our products remain our highest priority,” Dreyer’s said, while apologizing for the inconvenience.

The Outshine recall comes amid increased attention on food safety following other major recalls. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently classified a recall involving about 1.6 million cartons of eggs as Class I, the agency’s highest-risk category, because of possible Salmonella contamination.

For now, consumers who have Outshine Fruit Bars should check the product details carefully and avoid eating any items included in the recall.
