Plaza was reportedly seen holding the newborn in New York City on Sunday. Sources told the outlet that she gave birth in the last week of July.
Plaza and Abbott first met while working on the 2020 psychological drama Black Bear, in which they played filmmakers whose relationship becomes increasingly complicated. They later reunited for the 2023 off-Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.
Plaza was previously married to filmmaker Jeff Baena. The couple, who had been together for about a decade, married in 2021 and separated in 2024. Baena died by suicide in January 2025 at age 47. Plaza later described his death as an “unimaginable tragedy” and said that living with grief had become a daily struggle.
Plaza confirmed her pregnancy in April, saying she was “excited” about becoming a mother and had “always wanted to see what that’s all about.”
