Below Deck Star Nathan Gallagher Arrested on Domestic-Violence Charges in Australia

Below Deck Mediterranean star Nathan Gallagher was arrested in Australia last December on domestic-violence charges, according to a police memo obtained by Rolling Stone.

New South Wales Police say Gallagher was arrested on Dec. 27, following an alleged incident involving a 29-year-old woman at an apartment complex in the Sydney area the previous day.

Police charged Gallagher with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent, and common assault. The police memo did not report any serious injuries to either Gallagher or the woman.

Gallagher was later granted conditional bail. It is not currently clear how he pleaded to the charges or whether the case has been resolved.

Although the woman was not identified in the police document, a related court case names Gallagher in an Apprehended Violence Application filed on behalf of Gael Cameron, a fellow Below Deck cast member and the mother of Gallagher’s young child. A court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 1.

The arrest comes as Gallagher appears on the current season of Below Deck Mediterranean on Bravo. The season was filmed last summer, before the arrest became public.

Gallagher’s personal life has been part of the season’s storyline. The show follows him as he works as a bosun aboard the superyacht while also trying to remain involved in the lives of Cameron and their newborn son.

The allegations have not been established as fact in court. Gallagher is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty.
