Bruce Springsteen Says Wife Patti Scialfa Is in Remission After Cancer Battle

Bruce Springsteen shared encouraging news about his wife Patti Scialfa's health during a message for the annual Pan-Mass Challenge, a charity bike ride that raises money for cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

In a pre-recorded video, the 76-year-old singer said Scialfa, who has been living with multiple myeloma for more than eight years, is now in remission. He thanked the event's participants for supporting cancer research and praised the doctors, nurses and everyday people helping families affected by the disease.

Springsteen first revealed Scialfa's diagnosis in the 2024 documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. She said at the time that the illness had weakened her immune system, limiting her ability to tour, though she still joined some performances.

Speaking after the documentary's premiere, Springsteen said his wife's illness had made thoughts about mortality a bigger part of their lives and influenced his performances.

Springsteen and Scialfa, who celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in June, have three children: Evan, Jessica and Sam.
