Carnie Wilson Reunites With Kristy McNichol, Delighting Fans

Carnie Wilson recently reunited with 1970s TV star Kristy McNichol, delighting fans after sharing a selfie of the two on Facebook.

Wilson, a singer with Wilson Phillips, said she met McNichol at a Bob’s Big Boy restaurant in Southern California. A longtime fan, Wilson told McNichol that her films, including “Little Darlings” and “The End,” were among her favorites.

McNichol, who won two Emmy Awards, later emailed Wilson joking that the photo had made them “go viral.” Wilson said she has always admired the actress and was excited to meet her.

McNichol retired from acting in 2001 after 24 years in Hollywood. She was best known for shows such as “Family” and “Empty Nest,” as well as films including “Little Darlings.”

In 2012, McNichol publicly revealed that she was in a long-term relationship with Martie Allen. Her publicist said she hoped sharing her story would help young people who felt different or faced bullying.
