Frankie Valli Retires From Performing at 92 After Six-Decade Career

Frankie Valli has retired from performing at age 92 after a career spanning more than six decades, according to his brother, Bobby Valli.

Bobby announced the retirement in a Facebook post on Aug. 12, describing Frankie as a “living legend” and saying he had reached a point in his life where he could focus on his family. He also said Frankie had sold more than 100 million records and had been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The announcement follows Valli’s decision in May to cancel his remaining 2026 tour dates to focus on his health. At the time, Valli apologized to fans and said he planned to take the rest of the year off. His representative told Variety that he needed to prioritize his health and was considering returning to the stage in 2027.

Valli rose to prominence as the lead singer of the Four Seasons, beginning in 1960. He continued performing for decades, including with later versions of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

The group’s story was dramatized in the Broadway musical “Jersey Boys,” which opened in 2005, and in Clint Eastwood’s 2014 film adaptation. The musical chronicles Valli’s career alongside those of Bob Gaudio, Nick Massi and Tommy DeVito.
