Jamie Foxx Says Al Pacino Helped Ease His Fears About Becoming a Dad Again

Jamie Foxx is preparing to become a father for the third time, and he admits he initially had some doubts about having another child at 58.

The actor, 58, is expecting his first child with his girlfriend, Alyce Huckstepp, 31. In a recent interview with E!, Foxx said his age made him “a little on the fence” about starting a new chapter of fatherhood.

That changed after a conversation with fellow actor Al Pacino.

Foxx recalled running into Pacino, 86, who told him he was having a baby. Pacino welcomed his fourth child, Roman, in June 2023, when he was 83. The child’s mother, Noor Alfallah, was 29 at the time.

Foxx joked about Pacino becoming a father again at such an advanced age, asking whether he would be “back in the drop-off line.” Pacino reportedly embraced the joke and confirmed that he would be.

The encounter gave Foxx some reassurance about becoming a dad again later in life.

“I said, ‘Oh man, shoot, I’m good,’” Foxx recalled. “Imma go shoot up the club.”

Foxx already has two daughters. He shares 32-year-old Corinne with his former partner Connie Kline and 17-year-old Anelise Bishop with his former partner Kristin Grannis.

Corinne has followed her father into the entertainment industry. She has worked alongside Foxx on the game show Beat Shazam since 2018, giving her a front-row seat to his approach to work.

She said she grew up visiting her father on movie sets and watching him work. Becoming his co-worker, she said, taught her that professionalism does not have to mean taking everything too seriously.

Foxx is equally proud of how much his daughter has grown during their eight years on the show. He said watching her develop from a newcomer into a confident professional has been one of the highlights of working together.

Her role in the family business has also expanded considerably. Foxx revealed that Corinne now runs his production company, joking that her next goal should be becoming president.

The actor also spoke about the serious health crisis he experienced in 2023. Foxx was hospitalized for more than a month after suffering a brain bleed and stroke.

Looking back, he credited his daughter with helping him through that difficult period.

“A few years back, I went through something horrible,” he said. “My daughter made sure I got back.”

Now, Foxx says he is focused on embracing his second chance at life, his daughters and the new addition to his family.

For Foxx, becoming a father again is not simply about starting over. It is another chapter in a family life that has already played a major role in his recovery and personal growth.
