Kit Connor Reportedly Cast as Cyclops in Marvel Studios' New X-Men Movie

Marvel Studios has reportedly found its new Cyclops, with Heartstopper star Kit Connor emerging as the studio's choice to play Scott Summers in the upcoming X-Men reboot, according to Deadline.

The report states that Connor was selected after an extensive casting process led by director Jake Schreier and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. The decision follows recent reports that Samara Weaving is being lined up to play Emma Frost, signaling that the reboot's core cast is beginning to take shape.

Scott Summers, one of Marvel's most iconic mutants, debuted in The X-Men #1 in 1963. Known as the team's field leader, Cyclops possesses powerful optic blasts that he controls with his signature visor. The character was previously portrayed by James Marsden in Fox's original X-Men trilogy and by Tye Sheridan in the franchise's later films. Marsden is also set to reprise his version of the character in Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel's new X-Men film has been steadily gaining momentum, with Jake Schreier directing and a script from Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo. The reboot marks Marvel Studios' long-awaited introduction of the mutant team following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

Connor's casting continues the actor's rapid rise in Hollywood after his breakout performance in Heartstopper. He has since appeared in Alex Garland's Warfare and is also attached to the upcoming Elden Ring film adaptation.
