Perez Hilton’s Lawyer Speaks Out After His Mom Files for Temporary Custody of His Children

Perez Hilton’s lawyer says the family’s priority is protecting his three children as he recovers from a recent mental health crisis.

Attorney Natalie Guerra-Valdes told Us Weekly on Wednesday, August 12, that the family wants Hilton’s children to be safe and regain a sense of normalcy as they heal from the events of last week.

Hilton’s mother, Teresita Lavandeira, filed for temporary custody of his three children—Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8—on August 7. Court documents say Hilton agreed to the request while hospitalized.

Earlier this month, authorities responded after Hilton appeared to harm himself during a TikTok livestream. He was hospitalized and later required surgery after suffering significant blood loss and additional injuries.

Hilton’s family said his children, niece and sister were at home shortly before the livestream and left the house when they realized he was experiencing a severe mental health crisis.

The family has asked the media and content creators to stay away from their home while the children recover. Hilton has not publicly commented on the incident.
