Speaking on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, Scott recalled a story from the filming of the 1993 crime drama A Perfect World, which starred Kevin Costner and Clint Eastwood.
Scott said that, according to the story, Costner stayed in his trailer instead of coming to the set. Clint, who Scott said preferred actors to remain on set and be ready to work, reportedly responded by telling the crew to send Costner home for the day.
Although Costner was scheduled to appear in a scene, Scott said Clint rewrote it without him. According to Scott, Costner returned to the set the following day ready to work.
Scott noted that he was paraphrasing the story and might not have every detail correct.
Clint Eastwood has directed acclaimed films including Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby, winning Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture for both films. Scott Eastwood began his acting career in the late 2000s and appeared in several of his father's films, including Flags of Our Fathers, Gran Torino, and Invictus. His latest film is the war drama Lucky Strike.
