Tiger Woods Set for Sept. 8 Court Appearance Over DUI Arrest

Tiger Woods is scheduled to appear in court in Florida next month in connection with his March DUI arrest.

Woods, 50, is due to make his first in-person appearance before a judge on Sept. 8, according to Martin County court records.

The golfer was arrested after a March 27 rollover crash in Jupiter Island. Authorities say his Land Rover overturned after he overtook a truck pulling a pressure-cleaning trailer. Woods was charged with DUI causing property damage and refusing to submit to a lawful urine test. He has pleaded not guilty.

According to court documents, deputies said they found two hydrocodone pills in Woods’ pocket and observed signs of possible impairment, including bloodshot, glassy eyes and extremely dilated pupils.

Woods later received permission to leave Florida for six weeks of treatment at a facility outside the United States. His doctor said the treatment was necessary because of the complexity of his condition and the level of care required.

His prescription drug history has become an important issue in the case. In May, Judge Darren Steele ruled that Woods’ drug history could be used at trial, despite objections from his attorneys, who argued that the information should remain private.
