Bunnie Xo Says Divorce From Jelly Roll Left Her Needing IVs

Bunnie Xo has opened up about the physical and emotional toll of her divorce from country singer Jelly Roll.

During an appearance on Jenna Bush Hager’s Open Book podcast, Bunnie, 46, said the breakup left her struggling to eat and losing 20 pounds.

“There were moments when my team had to pick me up off the floor and give me IVs,” she said. “Because I wasn’t eating. I was eating baby food to get by.”

Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, and Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, married in 2016 after beginning their relationship that year. Jelly Roll filed for divorce in May, and the divorce was finalized two months later.

Despite the pain, Bunnie said she is focused on rebuilding her life and becoming stronger.

“I want to show people resilience,” she said. “I want to show people rebuilding and knowing that, like, yeah, my heart was shattered, but guess what? It’s healing, and it’s coming back even stronger.”

Bunnie said she has chosen not to publicly display her most vulnerable moments on social media. She said she believes sharing her heartbreak privately and discussing it on her podcast is more productive than crying on camera.

She also acknowledged that divorce can be devastating for everyone involved, saying families and relationships can be deeply affected.

Jelly Roll previously addressed the split during a June concert, saying he and Bunnie remained close friends and that neither had cheated.

“Bunnie, I love you, baby,” he said. “Thank you for those 10 years. They were incredible. Thank you for the next 10 years of friendship.”
