Faye Dunaway and Nicola Peltz Beckham Honored at Venice Film Festival

Hollywood stars Faye Dunaway and Nicola Peltz Beckham had a special night at the Venice Film Festival, where both actresses were honored for their work in cinema.

The actresses, who appear together in the upcoming film Prima, received Kinéo Awards during a ceremony at Casa Cinema Giovani on Saturday, Sept. 5. Dunaway, 85, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award, while Peltz Beckham, 31, was named a Rising Star.

Peltz Beckham attended the event with her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, whom she married in 2022. She turned heads on the red carpet in a purple Balenciaga dress before changing into a vintage black Armani Privé gown for the ceremony.

Dunaway also made a stylish appearance, posing for photographers with Prima filmmakers Alessandro and Luca Morelli. The Oscar-winning actress wore a black Ralph Lauren gown with a sheer cape on the red carpet and later changed into a beige Umit Benan suit.

Dunaway praises her young co-star

The two actresses shared warm words for each other at a Kinéo press conference on Friday, Sept. 4.

“I am so excited to be here and I am so excited to be sitting here next to the iconic Faye Dunaway,” Peltz Beckham said, according to video from the event.

Dunaway returned the compliment, praising her co-star's talent and future.

“I’m very happy to be here with this lady who I can see is going to have a very, very big career,” Dunaway said. “I think she’s so talented and I adore her.”

Their appearance comes as anticipation builds for Prima, which also stars Mira Sorvino and Jack Huston.

What is Prima about?

The film follows Margo, played by Peltz Beckham, a dedicated ballerina who is raised by her strict grandmother, portrayed by Dunaway. The grandmother is described as a disciplinarian and a “guardian of the art.”

For the role, Peltz Beckham underwent a major physical transformation and an intense workout program to prepare to play a prima ballerina.

The actress has appeared in several films and television projects over the years, including The Last Airbender, Transformers: Age of Extinction and the TV drama Bates Motel.

Prima does not yet have an announced release date.

Meanwhile, Dunaway has another project on the way. The veteran actress is also set to appear in the upcoming romance film Fate.

The Kinéo Awards have been presented during the Venice Film Festival since 2022. The awards were created by Rosetta Sannelli, president of the Kinéo Cultural Association, and are presented each year in partnership with Italy’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage.

The 83rd Venice Film Festival is being held from Sept. 2 through Sept. 12, bringing major stars, filmmakers and highly anticipated films to the Italian city.
