The 42-year-old singer announced on Instagram Wednesday, Sept. 2, that she and her husband, Wade Crescent, are expecting their first child together. Lane shared the happy news with a sweet photo showing her cradling her baby bump while sitting on Crescent’s lap outdoors with their golden retriever.
“Honeymoon souvenir. Baby Crescent coming soon,” Lane wrote in the caption.
The announcement quickly drew congratulations from fellow musicians and friends. Singer-songwriter Charley Crockett commented, “Congratulations 💗,” while Paul Cauthen wrote, “love you guys can’t wait to meet the nephew.”
The baby news comes just over a year after Lane and Crescent got married on Aug. 31, 2025. In a September 2025 interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, Lane opened up about her new marriage and said she felt fortunate to have found a loving and kind partner.
The couple first met through mutual friends in 2023. Crescent, an Englishman who had been living in the United States for 15 years, quickly connected with Lane. She recalled taking him two-stepping and said they had “talked every day since.”
Their relationship eventually led to an engagement during a road trip to Aspen, Colorado. After traveling through Las Vegas, the couple passed a wedding chapel sign. Crescent had a ring with him and waited for the right moment to propose.
“I felt a pang of excitement. He had a ring on him and we got engaged,” Lane recalled.
Lane has built a respected career in country and Americana music. She released her debut album, Walk of Shame, in 2011, followed by All or Nothin’ in 2014, Highway Queen in 2017 and Denim & Diamonds in 2022.
Her 2017 album Highway Queen earned widespread critical praise, and Lane won the Ameripolitan Music Award for Outlaw Country Female that same year. Over the years, she has also worked with artists including Lana Del Rey, Josh Homme and Sierra Ferrell.
Now, Lane is adding another milestone to her story as she and Crescent prepare to welcome their first child.
The couple has not publicly shared the baby’s due date or other details about the pregnancy.
