Robert Pattinson Juggles a Busy Movie Year, Fatherhood and The Batman: Part II

Robert Pattinson is having one of the busiest stretches of his career.

The actor, who recently arrived at the Venice Film Festival, is taking a short break from filming The Batman: Part II. His packed schedule includes a string of major films, with The Drama, The Odyssey, Primetime and Dune: Part Three all set for release during this period.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the world premiere of A24’s Primetime, Pattinson reflected on how he has managed such a demanding schedule.

“It’s unusual for me,” he said, explaining that for the first time in his life, he knew what his work schedule would look like nearly two years in advance. That allowed him to plan his energy and pace himself better.

But there has been another major change in his life: fatherhood.

Pattinson and his partner, singer Suki Waterhouse, welcomed their first child. The actor said becoming a father unexpectedly made his busy professional life easier to manage.

“I just had a baby as well, so I kind of had no desire to go out at night,” Pattinson said. “Suddenly I had like twice as much time to do anything, which was very, very helpful.”

Despite the demanding schedule, Pattinson said he feels lucky to be part of so many ambitious projects. He admitted that he would have been deeply disappointed to miss out on any of them.

“All of these projects — it’s just such an unbelievable privilege,” he said. “I would have been devastated to have dropped any of them.”

One of the biggest challenges was moving quickly between projects. Pattinson went from Primetime, where he also served as a producer, to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey just hours later.

The rapid change even left a little of his Primetime character behind.

“I can definitely hear a little Chris Hansen in The Odyssey when I watch it,” he joked, referring to the character he plays in Primetime, based on To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen.

Pattinson said that once he gets into the rhythm of working on multiple projects, the pace can become surprisingly addictive.

“Once you start spinning plates, it gets quite addictive,” he said, adding that he likes having his “full capacity going all the time.”

However, there is one project where Pattinson has had to slow down completely: The Batman: Part II.

The actor said he had a short break after finishing Dune before returning to work on the highly anticipated Batman sequel. But unlike his earlier projects, he is not trying to work on anything else at the same time.

“I’m definitely not doing simultaneous stuff during Batman,” Pattinson said. “It’s impossible.”

For now, the actor appears content to focus entirely on Gotham City — while balancing one of the busiest movie schedules of his career with his new role as a father.
