Sherri Shepherd to Return to ‘The View’ for Season 30

Sherri Shepherd is returning to The View as a guest when the daytime talk show begins its landmark 30th season.

ABC announced that Shepherd, who was a permanent cohost from 2007 to 2014, will return to the Hot Topics table after the show resumes its regular live schedule. She has continued to make guest appearances on The View since leaving the panel.

Season 30 will premiere Tuesday, Sept. 8, with a “Day of Hot Topics” featuring all six current cohosts: Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Shepherd has remained outspoken about her time on the show. In October 2025, she recalled that founding cohost Barbara Walters could be demanding and said Walters once made her cry. Shepherd added that Walters ultimately helped her develop her confidence and voice as a cohost.

Rosie O’Donnell has also indicated that she would like to return to The View during its 30th season. O’Donnell, who served on the panel from 2006 to 2007 and again from 2014 to 2015, previously said she would appear alongside other former cohosts. However, her representatives said there was no formal invitation at the time.

ABC has also announced a busy September guest lineup. Actors scheduled to appear include Jessica Lange, Andrew Garfield, Sarah Paulson, Billie Lourd, Maisie Williams, Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Zoe Kazan, Ke Huy Quan, Ethan Hawke and Kate McKinnon.

Musicians Lizzo and Kenny Chesney will also visit the show, along with political and cultural figures including Sen. Ted Cruz, Gov. Andy Beshear, Deborah Roberts, Colin Kaepernick, Evan Gershkovich, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Heidi Slotnik.

The show’s companion podcast, Behind the Table, is also expected to return later this year, along with the pre-taped Weekend View editions that air on Saturdays and Sundays.

The View Season 30 premieres Sept. 8 on ABC.
