The former couple shared a friendly hug at the Hamptons International Film Festival, where both were promoting new projects. Cooper attended the international premiere of The Lightkeeper, while Seyfried’s The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd had its U.S. premiere.
Seyfried and Cooper began dating after meeting while filming the 2008 musical, in which they played newlyweds Sophie and Sky. They split in 2011 but reunited professionally for 2018’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
At the time, Seyfried was married to Thomas Sadoski, while Cooper had begun a relationship with actress Gemma Chan. Seyfried previously said Sadoski was supportive of her working with Cooper again, while Cooper described Seyfried as a friend and said they handled the reunion delicately.
Their latest reunion comes shortly after Seyfried and Sadoski announced their separation following nine years of marriage. The former couple, who share two children, said they had been separated for some time and that the decision was the right one for their family.
Despite their romantic history, Seyfried and Cooper have remained on friendly terms, proving that some Hollywood relationships can evolve into lasting friendships.
