Grande revealed the initiative on Friday, describing it as an expansion of the philanthropic work she has supported personally for years.
“I am beyond excited to finally announce the brighter days ahead foundation,” Grande said in a press release. “Our mission is to support, protect, and provide resources for our vulnerable friends in need. Through four different funds, we will be supporting handfuls of incredible organizations that provide the safe space and care that is desperately needed by so many right now.”
She added, “It has been my privilege to be able to support these causes on my own over the years, and I'm grateful to now be able to expand that reach and amplify the life-saving work that these organizations do through the brighter days ahead foundation.”
According to the foundation, its mission is to promote justice and equity while focusing on LGBTQ+ rights, mental health access, and humanitarian assistance. The organization distributes funding through four core programs.
The Protect & Defend Fund supports grassroots organizations advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, civil rights, and reproductive justice. Current grantees include the Defending Our Neighbors Fund, Elevated Access, G.L.I.T.S., Lambda Legal, the Transgender Law Center, and the Trans Youth Emergency Project.
The Heal & Dream Fund aims to expand access to mental health care and community support services. Organizations receiving support include Trans Lifeline, Backline, the National Queer & Trans Therapists of Color Network, and Jack.org.
The Seen & Celebrated Fund focuses on amplifying LGBTQ+ voices, histories, and storytelling. Supported groups include the Gender Liberation Movement, Glisten Rainbow Library, SAGE USA, TransLash Media, and Transanta.
The fourth initiative, the Emergency Support Fund, provides rapid-response humanitarian aid during times of crisis. The fund also supports immigrant advocacy and legal assistance organizations. Among its grantees are Al Otro Lado, Kids In Need of Defense (KIND), Immigrant Defenders Law Center, This Is About Humanity, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, Humanity Crew, New York Cares, Save the Children UK, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, and Troop 6000.
The foundation is accepting donations through its official website. Additional funding will come from the sale of a branded black hoodie, with net proceeds directed toward the organization's charitable work.
The launch builds on Grande's long history of support for LGBTQ+ and mental health causes. In 2022, she marked Transgender Day of Visibility by launching a fundraiser to support transgender youth and organizations opposing anti-trans legislation. Grande personally matched $1.5 million in donations, helping raise more than $3 million for 18 advocacy and service organizations.
Grande has frequently spoken about her connection to the LGBTQ+ community, citing the influence of her openly gay brother, Frankie Grande, as well as early experiences in Broadway and New York City's drag community. Throughout her career, she has publicly supported LGBTQ+ rights and has often been recognized by fans and advocacy groups as a prominent ally.
The Brighter Days Ahead Foundation formalizes and expands those efforts through a long-term grant-making structure focused on advocacy, mental health care, storytelling, and emergency relief.
