The Back to the Future star recently filed court documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court seeking to dismiss one of the lawsuit’s key claims while also launching a legal counterattack against the woman who sued him earlier this year. The case, which remains ongoing, centers on dramatically different accounts of a relationship that both sides agree began years after first connecting online.
No criminal charges have been filed against Glover in connection with the allegations, and the dispute is currently being fought in civil court.
The Lawsuit Against Glover
In February 2026, an anonymous plaintiff identified in court filings as Jane Doe, a former model from the United Kingdom, filed a civil lawsuit against Glover.
The complaint alleges that Glover subjected her to a pattern of manipulation, coercion, and abuse after encouraging her to move from the UK to Los Angeles.
The lawsuit includes several civil causes of action:
• Battery
• Fraud
• Wrongful eviction
• Malicious prosecution
• Intentional infliction of emotional distress
• Violations of California’s Bane Act
According to the complaint, Doe first connected with Glover through social media in 2015. Over the following years, she claims the actor cultivated a relationship with her and encouraged her to relocate to California with promises of career opportunities and a stable living arrangement.
The lawsuit states that the pair met in person in Dresden, Germany, in 2023. During that visit, Doe alleges that Glover displayed Nazi memorabilia from his personal collection and continued to persuade her to move to Los Angeles.
After relocating in early 2024, Doe claims the situation changed significantly. She alleges that Glover controlled her movements, imposed strict restrictions on her daily life, and expected her to perform unpaid labor while serving as what she described in court filings as a “live-in girlfriend/sex slave.”
The complaint further alleges that Glover tracked her whereabouts and used intimidation to limit her freedom.
Battery and Physical Abuse Claims
One of the most serious allegations involves an alleged physical altercation.
According to the lawsuit, Doe attended a mosque despite rules she claims Glover had imposed. Upon returning to the residence, she alleges she discovered she had been locked out.
When she attempted to re-enter the property, Doe claims Glover physically attacked her by placing her in a headlock, grabbing her neck, and choking her. She alleges the incident left a visible wound and permanent scar on her neck.
These allegations form the basis of her battery claim.
Fraud and Wrongful Eviction Allegations
Doe also accuses Glover of fraud, claiming he intentionally misrepresented his intentions in order to convince her to leave the UK.
According to the complaint, she sold her possessions and relocated to California after being promised a legitimate paid position as Glover’s assistant and housing arrangements at one of his properties.
The lawsuit contends those promises were never genuine and were instead part of a scheme to gain control over her circumstances.
Additionally, Doe alleges she became a legal tenant after moving into the property and that Glover unlawfully removed her without following California eviction procedures.
She claims the alleged lockout left her homeless.
Malicious Prosecution and Civil Rights Claims
The lawsuit further accuses Glover of weaponizing the legal system against her after their relationship deteriorated.
Doe alleges that Glover falsely reported her to police and later sought a restraining order using inaccurate information. She argues those actions constituted malicious prosecution.
Her complaint also invokes California’s Tom Bane Civil Rights Act, commonly known as the Bane Act, which allows individuals to seek damages when threats, intimidation, or coercion interfere with constitutional or legal rights.
According to Doe, Glover’s alleged conduct amounted to coercive control that infringed upon her freedom and autonomy.
Glover’s Version of Events
Glover has categorically denied all allegations.
In court documents filed on June 3, 2026, the actor presents a dramatically different account of what occurred.
According to Glover, he and Doe briefly entered into a romantic relationship in 2023 after first connecting online years earlier. However, he disputes the plaintiff’s characterization of their relationship and argues that it was never coercive.
In a declaration submitted to the court, Glover claims Doe stayed with him in Europe for three nights and in the United States for 16 nights.
He alleges tensions escalated when Doe asked him to tell others they had been married through an Islamic ceremony.
Glover says he refused.
According to his declaration, Doe then returned to his home accompanied by an unidentified man.
The actor alleges that both individuals verbally and physically attacked him.
Alleged Assault and Police Response
Glover maintains that he was the victim of the confrontation, not the aggressor.
He states that he contacted the Los Angeles Police Department following the incident and that responding officers arrested Doe.
As part of his court filing, Glover included a photograph showing what appears to be a bloody facial injury that he claims resulted from the altercation.
He also submitted documentation related to a temporary restraining order he sought shortly afterward.
According to Glover, authorities were unable to serve the restraining order because Doe could not be located after her release from custody.
His legal team argues that law enforcement records and court filings support his version of events.
Glover Calls Lawsuit a “Shakedown”
In his declaration, Glover strongly rejects the plaintiff’s claims that he held her captive or exploited her.
“The allegations that I held her captive are patently and provably false,” he states in the filing.
The actor further describes the lawsuit as retaliation for the events of early 2024.
“Instead of taking accountability for her multiple illegal actions in February-March 2024, Plaintiff has made up false allegations in retaliation, and, I believe, to manufacture a lawsuit in an attempt to damage me and extract money from me,” Glover wrote.
He also alleges that he received a communication from Doe’s attorney in September 2025 requesting an unspecified financial settlement to avoid litigation.
Glover characterizes that communication as evidence that the lawsuit is financially motivated.
Counterclaims Filed by Glover
In addition to seeking dismissal of the malicious prosecution claim, Glover has filed a cross-complaint against Doe.
The actor accuses her of:
• Assault
• Battery
• Intrusion into private affairs
• Unlawful trespass
His filing describes her conduct as “willful, fraudulent, oppressive, and malicious.”
Glover is seeking damages and has requested a jury trial.
Dispute Over Nazi Memorabilia Allegation
Another point of contention involves Doe’s claim that Glover displayed Nazi memorabilia during their meeting in Dresden.
Glover has denied the allegation and argues that it was included primarily to generate damaging publicity.
In his declaration, he described the claim as an attempt to create “headline-grabbing” accusations designed to pressure him into paying a settlement.
No Criminal Charges Filed
Despite the serious nature of the allegations, no criminal charges have been announced against Glover.
The case remains a civil dispute in which the plaintiff is seeking financial damages rather than criminal penalties.
As the litigation proceeds, both sides continue to present sharply conflicting versions of events. Doe alleges years of manipulation, coercion, abuse, and exploitation, while Glover insists he was the victim of an assault and that the lawsuit is a fabricated attempt to damage his reputation and obtain money.
The matter is expected to continue through the California court system, where a judge or jury will ultimately determine the credibility of the competing claims and whether either side is entitled to damages.
