During an appearance on The Dan Le Batard Show on June 11, Azaria humorously complained that while Swift enjoyed some of the best seats in Madison Square Garden, he was watching the New York Knicks’ dramatic win over the San Antonio Spurs from much higher up in the arena.
“I'll tell you, the one that bothered me was Taylor Swift,” Azaria said. “We had to sit with her all through the NFL and now she's at The Garden, come on.”
The Emmy-winning actor explained that Swift was seated courtside while he was placed in what he described as the “Cisco Suites,” joking that the section felt like it was “on the ceiling.”
Hank Azaria Says Other Celebrities Were Seated Far From the Action
Azaria noted that he was not the only famous face seated away from Celebrity Row.
According to the actor, several well-known figures were also watching from higher-level luxury suites, including Questlove, Rainn Wilson, Ed Burns, Jeremy Strong and Christy Turlington. He also claimed that New York Yankees star Aaron Judge was unable to secure better seats for the game.
The actor revealed that he originally purchased “outrageously expensive” tickets for the NBA Finals matchup but later gave them to friends after learning he would receive complimentary seats. After arriving at his assigned suite, however, he joked that he regretted giving away the original tickets.
Taylor Swift’s Courtside Appearance Goes Viral
Swift’s attendance at Game 4 quickly became one of the biggest talking points of the night on social media.
The singer sat in a premium celebrity courtside section alongside longtime friends Alana Haim and Este Haim. The group drew attention for wearing custom Knicks-themed shirts featuring playful name puns. Swift wore a “Stevie Knicks” shirt, while the Haim sisters sported shirts reading “Knickole Kidman” and “Knickleback.” Danielle Haim later joined the group during the game.
Also seated nearby were Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, as well as Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay, who wore a matching Knicks-themed shirt.
Longtime Knicks superfans Spike Lee and Tracy Morgan were also positioned close to the courtside celebrity section.
Scooter Braun and Sydney Sweeney Seating Sparks Online Discussion
Another widely discussed aspect of the game involved music executive Scooter Braun and actress Sydney Sweeney.
Braun and Sweeney were seated a few rows behind Swift’s group, prompting online speculation due to Braun’s well-known history with Swift following their dispute over her master recordings.
Fans questioned the seating arrangement, but Braun later addressed the rumors on Instagram. He explained that Sweeney had specifically selected those seats so they could sit next to his father, Ervin Braun, and brother, Adam Braun, turning the outing into a family-focused experience rather than an industry statement.
Travis Kelce Absent From Knicks Finals Game
One notable absence from the celebrity-filled crowd was Swift’s fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
Kelce reportedly remained in Kansas City because of mandatory Chiefs minicamp obligations, preventing him from attending the NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden.
The broader VIP audience included several other high-profile names, including Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber and Tate McRae, who were seated in various courtside and luxury seating areas throughout the arena.
