Adria Arjona keeps quiet on Wonder Woman rumours at SDCC

Adria Arjona avoided confirming speculation that she has been cast as Wonder Woman during an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con 2026.

When asked about the rumours in Entertainment Weekly's SDCC studio, the Hit Man and Andor star jokingly stood up and pretended to leave the interview before returning to answer more carefully.

"I’m going to go now," Arjona joked before adding that James Gunn and DC Studios co-head Peter Safran are like family to her. She said she was happy to be part of the DC Universe but did not reveal which character she will play.

Arjona has been linked to the role of Wonder Woman since 2025. At the time, Gunn dismissed speculation sparked by his long-standing social media follow of the actress, explaining they had been friends since working together on The Belko Experiment in 2016. He also commented that she "would be a great Wonder Woman."

Gunn has confirmed that a new Wonder Woman film is in development, although he has described progress as slow.

Arjona is set to appear in Man of Tomorrow, the upcoming sequel to Superman, alongside returning stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult. While most of the cast's roles have been revealed, Arjona's character remains officially undisclosed.

Previous reports suggested she could play the alien warrior queen Maxima, but Gunn publicly rejected those claims as inaccurate.

With DC Studios still yet to announce who will play Wonder Woman in its new film universe, Arjona's role in Man of Tomorrow remains one of the project's biggest mysteries.
