Speaking to Fox News Digital at the Newport Beach TV Fest, the Landman star said her family enjoys simple summer activities such as bike rides, barbecues, playing with their dogs, swimming in the river, and getting ice cream. She added that the long summer days allow them to spend more time together outdoors.
Larter and her husband, Hayes MacArthur, moved to Idaho in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic with their two children. In a previous interview, she said they originally planned to stay for only two months but decided to remain after their daughter was able to attend kindergarten in person and the family built strong connections in the community.
After returning to Los Angeles for a summer, Larter said they realized the demands of the entertainment industry, including auditions and public events, were taking time away from family life. Although she said she still loves Los Angeles, the couple chose to make Idaho their home to focus more on their children.
Larter currently stars in Landman as Angela, the recently reconciled ex-wife of Billy Bob Thornton’s character. She joked that she wishes she could bring a little more of Angela’s bold personality into her everyday life.
