Anson Mount Says Wife Laughed After Joy Behar’s Viral Kiss on The View

Actor Anson Mount said his wife, Darah Trang, found it funny after Joy Behar surprised him with a long kiss on the lips during Wednesday’s episode of The View.

Speaking with TV Insider, the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds star joked that he asked his wife not to divorce him. “She thought it was hilarious,” he said.

The unscripted moment happened as Mount greeted the show’s cohosts. Behar pulled him in for a kiss that lasted several seconds, leaving lipstick on his face, which he wiped off afterward. The clip quickly went viral online.

Mount said it was his first appearance on The View in about 13 years. He recalled bringing Behar flowers for her birthday during his previous visit and joked that he must have made a lasting impression.

Behar later discussed the moment on The View’s Behind the Table podcast, saying she “just felt like kissing him” and admitted she whispered “lips” before the kiss. She also shared that her husband, Steve Janowitz, texted her during the show, writing, “Cut that out.”

Responding to Behar’s on-air comment, “I’m old, but I’m not dead,” Mount later joked on social media, “VERY MUCH ALIVE, I can attest!”
