Ben and Casey Affleck’s Mother, Chris Anne Affleck, Dies at 83

Chris Anne Affleck, the mother of actors Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck, has died at the age of 83 after battling pancreatic cancer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, she died peacefully in her sleep on June 2. Her obituary said she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2025 and was given about six months to live.

Born Christopher Anne Boldt in New York City in December 1942, she graduated from Harvard University and spent 35 years as a public school teacher before retiring in 2008.

Chris and her former husband, Timothy Affleck, welcomed Ben in 1972 and Casey in 1975. The couple later divorced. She is survived by her two sons and five grandchildren.

Her obituary said one of her final wishes was to see her grandson Atticus graduate from high school, and she attended the ceremony on May 31.

Both Ben and Casey have often spoken about their mother’s support. Casey previously called her “really supportive,” while Ben said she helped him get his start in acting through a friend who worked as a casting director.
