Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern and Others Pay Tribute to Sam Neill

Bryce Dallas Howard has shared a heartfelt tribute to her Jurassic World Dominion co-star Sam Neill, who died Monday at the age of 78.

Howard recalled spending more than four months together during the pandemic while filming Jurassic World Dominion. She described Neill as "funny, warm, endlessly kind," and said he was "exactly who you hoped he'd be." She also remembered his love for family, friends, animals and his farm, calling him "one of the greats."

Her tribute included a video of Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum singing the Beatles' "Blackbird" as Goldblum played piano.

Laura Dern, who starred alongside Neill in the Jurassic Park films, called him her "beloved lifetime friend." She praised his loyalty, kindness and humor, adding, "I will love you forever, Dr. Alan Grant."

Jeff Goldblum also honored Neill, writing, "The next great adventure begins. Love, always and forever," alongside photos from their years together.

Director Steven Spielberg remembered Neill as an "exceptionally collaborative" actor. He noted that Neill's on-screen dislike of children contrasted with his real-life role as a loving father. Spielberg said the Jurassic cast would always remain a family and that Neill's legacy would live on through his films and fans.

Neill was best known for playing paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant, a role he first portrayed in the 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park and reprised in later installments of the franchise.
