Cooper Hoffman Recalls Childhood Crush on Olivia Wilde Before Starring Opposite Her

Cooper Hoffman says he never imagined that his childhood crush on Olivia Wilde would one day become his co-star. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the 23-year-old actor recalled watching House with his father and being a fan of Wilde, who played Dr. Thirteen on the hit series.

Hoffman now stars alongside Wilde in Gregg Araki's R-rated film I Want Your Sex. He plays Elliot, a young man who becomes the muse for Wilde's character, a famous artist and dominatrix.

Director Gregg Araki admitted he initially questioned the pairing because of Hoffman's age but changed his mind after seeing the two actors together during a chemistry test. He praised Hoffman's maturity and screen presence, saying he matched Wilde's strong performance.

Hoffman described the audition as the best chemistry read of his career and said he was nervous but focused on proving he could handle the role. Wilde later said she immediately liked Hoffman when they first met.

I Want Your Sex is now playing in theaters.
