Danny Trejo Reunites With Niece During TMZ Tour Bus Stop

Actor Danny Trejo had a surprise family reunion while greeting passengers on a TMZ tour bus in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

A woman on the bus interrupted Trejo to tell him she was his niece. Surprised, Trejo responded, "Are you kidding?" before embracing her and telling others on the bus that he had found a relative.

The woman is the daughter of Trejo's estranged sister, Marlene. Her daughter was also on the tour and said her family has long watched TMZ.

Just before the unexpected reunion, Trejo told the group that the good things in his life had come from helping other people. After meeting his niece, he thanked TMZ co-founder Harvey Levin on camera.

Trejo, who grew up in the Los Angeles area, has spoken publicly about family struggles in his 2021 memoir Trejo: My Life of Crime. He wrote that his father kept him separated from parts of his family during his childhood.

Known for films including Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, Anaconda, and Machete, Trejo has also spoken about the importance of family in recent years. He recently described becoming emotional while acting alongside his son, Gilbert, in the 2025 film From a Son.
