D'Arcy Carden Reveals She Peed in a Trash Can During a Long Celebrity Zoom Call

D'Arcy Carden recently shared a funny story about a Zoom call she had during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking on the Good One podcast with host Jesse David Fox, Carden said actress Megan Mullally organized regular Zoom gatherings for women in television. The calls brought together six to eight actresses at a time and helped them stay connected during the isolation of 2020.

One memorable call included Mullally, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Lisa Kudrow. Carden said the conversation lasted so long that she needed to use the bathroom. She worried that if she announced it, everyone would realize how much time had passed and end the meeting.

Instead, Carden quietly muted herself, placed a trash can beside her desk, and relieved herself without leaving the call. She then returned to the conversation as if nothing had happened. According to Carden, the other actresses did not know what she had done until she told the story on the podcast.

Carden is best known for playing Janet on The Good Place. She now stars in The Five Star Weekend alongside Jennifer Garner, Regina King, Chloë Sevigny, and Gemma Chan.

The series follows a group of women who reunite in Nantucket after the death of one member's husband. Carden said the show explores different stages of life and friendship, with characters experiencing everything from pregnancy to divorce and second marriages.

She also said the cast became close while filming. Director Minkie Spiro invited everyone to her home instead of arranging a formal lunch. After eating together, the cast spent about two hours playing Pictionary, which helped them relax, get to know one another, and build real friendships before filming began.
