Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Ties Record With 14th Week at No. 1

Ella Langley’s hit song “Choosin’ Texas” has spent a 14th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, tying the record for the most weeks atop the chart by a non-holiday song from a solo female artist without a male-billed collaborator.

The achievement matches Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” and Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” The song also ties Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” as the second-longest-running No. 1 hit overall.

Langley, 27, called the milestone “insane” in an Instagram Stories post after the chart update.

“Choosin’ Texas,” which first reached No. 1 in February, has become the biggest hit of Langley’s career. It also helped make her the first female artist to simultaneously top the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Country Airplay charts.

The song appears on Langley’s second album, “Dandelion,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after its April release. She co-wrote the track with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and JoyBeth Taylor, and served as executive producer of the album.

Explaining the album’s title, Langley told Billboard that dandelion tea is a natural liver detox, making the name a fitting follow-up to her 2024 debut album, “Hungover.” She described Dandelion as a personal project about growth, mistakes, and resilience, while capturing the feeling of carefree summer days.
