Emilie Kiser responds after boat safety criticism

Influencer Emilie Kiser has responded after social media users criticised footage showing her 16-month-old son, Teddy, sitting on a boat without a life jacket during a family trip to Mallorca in June.

The video, shared by fellow influencer Madi Curtis and later deleted, briefly showed Teddy without a life jacket while on the boat. Viewers also noted that Madi Curtis' daughter appeared without safety gear at one point.

The clip drew widespread attention because Emilie and her husband, Brady Kiser, lost their three-year-old son, Trigg, in a drowning accident in May 2025. Since then, Emilie has spoken publicly about water safety.

In an Instagram Stories post on 28 July, Emilie acknowledged the mistake, saying Teddy should have worn a life jacket for the entire boat ride. She said the family understands how quickly lives can change and admitted they "should have done better."

Emilie also thanked people for their concern while acknowledging the anger and hurt expressed online. She said the family continues to grieve Trigg's death every day and remains committed to learning from their mistakes and advocating for water safety.

Trigg died six days after falling into the family's backyard pool in May 2025. Earlier this year, Emilie described his death as a "preventable accident" and said parents have a responsibility to protect their children. She has also announced that she is expecting her third child with Brady Kiser.
