Eric Roberts says he supports Emma Roberts after missing her wedding

Eric Roberts has spoken publicly after not attending his daughter Emma Roberts' wedding.

Emma, 35, married actor Cody John in an outdoor ceremony in Sun Valley, Idaho, on 25 July. Speaking to Page Six two days later, Eric, 70, confirmed he was not there.

"I love my daughter, always have, always will," he said. "It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants."

Eric shares Emma with his former partner, Kelly Cunningham. He lost custody of Emma when she was a baby during a period when he struggled with drug addiction. Earlier this year, he said he was "not to be depended on emotionally" when she was born but rejected claims that they are estranged.

While Eric did not attend, Emma's aunt Julia Roberts and her husband, Danny Moder, were among the guests. Emma's five-year-old son, Rhodes, also attended.

Emma wore a custom Monique Lhuillier gown, while Cody John wore a brown suit. The couple exchanged vows beside a river after dating for about four years. They made their relationship public in 2022 and announced their engagement in July 2025.
