Troy Grevelding told PEOPLE that the incident happened during Wallen's performance after he had earlier spoken with the man, whom he believes was intoxicated. Grevelding said he first thought liquid on him was spilled beer before realizing the man behind him had allegedly pulled down his pants and was urinating.
Grevelding said his wife and his 8-year-old niece were also hit. His brother, Tim Grevelding, said his daughters' first concert ended early because of the incident and that the family had to travel home in urine-soaked clothing.
The family said they have been in contact with officials at M&T Bank Stadium about the incident.
According to TMZ, Maryland Transportation Authority Police detained the man outside the stadium but did not arrest him. The agency said it has opened an active criminal investigation. A video shared by Grevelding shows officers explaining that security footage must be reviewed before any charges can be pursued and that Grevelding could later subpoena the footage and file charges.
