Jacob Elordi Details Nate Jacobs’ Shocking ‘Euphoria’ Death Scene

Jacob Elordi has revealed the intense filming conditions behind Nate Jacobs’ gruesome death in the final season of Euphoria, including sharing a coffin with a live snake.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on July 20, with Euphoria co-star Colman Domingo serving as guest host, the 28-year-old actor described spending two days locked inside a coffin while wearing heavy prosthetics.

“I got locked in a coffin for two days straight with prosthetics and a fake tongue, and I couldn’t see out of my eyes,” Elordi said. “And then Sam put snakes into the coffin.”

Although Nate is killed by a rattlesnake in the episode, Elordi filmed the sequence with a nonvenomous boa constrictor. Far from being intimidating, the actor said the snake was calm and affectionate.

“He had a very nice personality,” Elordi joked. “He was very docile and very sleepy.” He even admitted nudging the snake to make it appear more threatening, but it “was like a little dog,” repeatedly curling up at his feet.

Elordi also joked that series creator Sam Levinson “brought me back to torture me,” describing the demanding shoot as “six weeks of me just getting beat by a seven-foot guy.”

The actor portrayed the troubled Nate Jacobs throughout HBO’s hit drama, whose storyline centered on his turbulent relationships and dysfunctional family. Elordi will next appear in Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars, which arrives in theaters on Aug. 28.
