HBO Airs Rob Reiner's Final Performance in Trump Satire

Rob Reiner made a final television appearance in HBO's Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America, playing George Washington in a sketch that mocked President Donald Trump.

In the scene, Washington explains why presidents should serve no more than two terms. Larry David's character repeatedly imagines a future president who ignores the Constitution, refuses to accept an election loss, and abuses presidential power. Jimmy Kimmel also appears, joking about a president who cannot handle criticism. The sketch ends with Washington expressing despair over the imagined scenario.

Reiner, a longtime Democratic critic of Trump, had frequently spoken out against the president before his death in December. After news of the deaths of Reiner and his wife, Michele, Trump posted a statement on Truth Social criticizing Reiner's political views while also offering condolences.
