The 40-year-old Bachelorette star recently revealed that doctors found an early-stage brain tumor after a full-body MRI. He shared a video on Instagram showing off his new haircut, joking in the caption, "Might as well give them easy access."
His wife, Serena Pitt, teased that he had finally found a reason to get a buzz cut, while friends from Bachelor Nation praised the new look.
On their podcast, Not Married to This, Amabile said doctors discovered a small lesion on the frontal lobe of his brain. Further testing confirmed it is an early-stage, slow-growing glioma. He has experienced nausea, lightheadedness, and anxiety.
Although the tumor is slow-growing, Amabile said he chose to have it removed because it could become more serious over time. He is scheduled to undergo a craniotomy at the end of July.
Amabile said he is staying positive and is grateful the tumor was found early. He also encouraged others to pay attention to their health and seek medical care if something seems wrong.
